Miki Morita
Miki Morita
Miki Morita was born in Japan and now lives in Victoria, B.C. She gets her inspiration from the beauty of Vancouver Island nature and wildlife; especially, the killer whale as an iconic symbol of west coast waters. It is her love of killer whales that first brought her to Vancouver Island and kept her there. Ultimately her passion for art and wildlife has guided her through life and is reflected in her depictions of sea to sky wildlife. Miki has a college diploma in painting from Japan and also received a B.A. degree in History in Art from the University of Victoria. Currently she is working with both acrylic and oil. Her paintings are on display through the seasons at Whale Interpretive Centre in Telegraph Cove, BC. Also, they are found in private collections across Canada, in US, France, Australia, and Japan.
